Humanity Divided

Humility can be considered to be the prime virtue.  We see humanity divided.  All of human life is divided up into two categories; these are the proud and the humble.   In the book of Habakuk chapter 2 we read these words:

Hab 2:4- Look at the proud one; his soul is not upright — but the righteous will live by faithc —  5 and wealth indeed betrays him ( the proud man).   He is an arrogant man never at rest.  He enlarges his appetite like Sheol ( the grave) , and like Death, he is never satisfied.

The Arrogance of Pride

The proud man does not realise that he needs God. He thinks that he can do everything on his own and does not need the one who gave him every breath and every heartbeat that he ever had.   This is the same attitude of pride that caused God’s arch- enemy Satan) to be driven out of heaven.  But the humble man on the other hand who is depending upon God is looked on by the Lord with mercy and God gives him ( or her) the gift of faith.   That God given faith enables him to be strong and overcome any obstacles as he rests and depends upon your mighty power of God.

Power In Humility

Humility is not weakness. Our Lord Jesus Christ before he came to the earth threw h the flaming stars into space;  He was the creator of everything.   But when he came to earth he said these words.

Matt 11:28 TO 30 – Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

Jesus our Example

Our almighty Lord voluntarily depended all through his life on the leading and power and guidance of God, his heavenly father. He took the form of a slave and even washed the disciple’s feet. That was actually the task of a slave at that time in Israel. But Jesus did this and was able to be humble because he knew who he was, where he had come from and that He was going to return to the Father in glory. When we know  the grace of God and the power of God that is at the back of us and our eternal destiny,  we will find that no task is too humble for us to stick to and we will serve the Lord in any seemingly lowly way God chooses.

Scripture teaches us that the wonderful person of Jesus Christ is filed with many virtues; the life in Jesus is rich indeed.   hat Christ left us an example, how to live, (1 Pet 2:21) is true.  Yes we see in His life such a captivating life to follow.  However, if all we had was an example to follow, because of our human sinful nature we would have NO HOPE of copying.  However we praise God that scriptures teach us that to us who have a true faith in him – He lives within us by His Spirit. to enable us to live by his wonderful virtues.

The Precious Promise

Good morning my beloved friends.   Today I want to speak to you you about the Holy Spirit.   The Holy Spirit is the spirit of The Living God.   The Holy Spirit is the third of the Trinity and every true believer in Jesus Christ is indwelt by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God’s special gift.    Our Lord Jesus Christ told us these words before he left to go to the cross and rise again and go to the father

John 14: 15 thu 17 – If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.   16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be with you forever— 17the Spirit of truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you do know Him, for He abides with you and will be in you.

Power And Guidance

The Holy Spirit is truly God and has the same majesty with God as the Father and the Son.    Before the Lord Jesus left the Earth he told his disciples that they would be given power and ability to serve God  and that they would receive power…

Acts 1: 6 thu 8 – when they came together, they ( his disciples) asked Him, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”   7Jesus replied, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by His own authority but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

If all Believers was listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit they would all avoid some very costly mistakes.   They would receive all power and guidance.   In Romans chapter we are told ………

Rom 8:14 – all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

 When we follow the teaching and  guidance of The Holy Spirit, she not only lead us into all truth but into  all security!
