The Word of God Cannot Be Broken

Our Risen saviour Jesus has assured us that, ” the Word of God cannot be broken.”   (John 10:35.)    Our beloved pastor speaks how the precious word of God from the mouth of our saviour, changes us, gives us new spiritual life, eternal life, correction, encouragement and leads us to eternal glory.

The Word Of God Cannot Be Broken

The Christian Bible is a wonderful selection of books.   It has two sections which are the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament contains the sacred writings of the Jewish Faith from the prophets and other writers. These writings were written before the Lord Jesus came to earth as our saviour,  to die for our sins and rise again.  The time of writing was from about 1200 BC to 165 BC.  The New Testament was written by the apostles and disciples of the Lord who were witnesses of the things they had seen Jesus do and say and the the things they had seen after he rose victoriously from the dead.   All of his initial chosen apostles were martyred for standing true and firm to the declaration that they had seen him rise from the dead;  not one of them recanted.  The only surviving apostle was John who died of an old age.

Our Saviour’s Testimony To Scripture

Our Wonderful saviour himself believed, studied and proclaimed God’s word from the Old Testament writings. His testimony to the veracity of scriptures was that “scripture cannot be broken.”  (John 10:35).  The Lord Jesus also use the scriptures as a weapon when he was tempted of Satan. For example, during his 40 day fast in the wilderness,  the Devil  tempted him to turn stones into bread.  The Lord Jesus replied ………..
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

The Bible- An Up-to- date Narrative

Reading the biblical prophecies of the end times is just like reading the newspapers in today’s world. The Bible prophesies very accurately the present days that we are living in. The Lord Jesus himself prophesied in Matthew chapter 24, Luke chapter 24 and Mark 13 of Wars and rumours of Wars,  earthquakes,  plagues and fearful sights in heaven which would be at a time when men’s hearts would be failing them for fear for the terrible things that are coming upon the earth.

Math 24: 6 to 8 – You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come; nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.   All these are the beginning of birth pangs.

God’s Plan For The Ages

 

The Bible describes God’s plan for the ages. The prophecies of the word of God speak of a time (after all the tribulations and wars that are coming upon the earth); this will surely be a time of universal peace,  prosperity and righteousness.   They also assure us of a time when God will create a new heaven and a new earth in which there will be peace and  righteousness.  

A Scripture Of God’s Final Plan

2 Peter 3:13 – you anticipate and hasten the coming of the day of God, when the heavens will be destroyed by fire and the elements will melt in the heat.  But in keeping with God’s promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.

Peter’s Testimony To Biblical Prophecy

The Apostle Peter wrote these words concerning his sure hope and his certainty that his saviour had Risen from the dead and that the writings of sacred scripture were faithful and true…

2 Pet 1:16 to 18 – For we did not follow cleverly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty.   For He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to Him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.  And we ourselves heard this voice from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.
